Cultural Gastronomic Market

B. "Cuidad de las Artes y de las Ciencias"
C. Valencia's Port
D. Politechnic university of Valencia
The project is located over a building plot of 17.300m2, but with the singularity of a pre-existent old gasometer covering an area of 600m2.
The requirements of the project were the following:
- Integrate the mentioned gasometer
- The project had to be always buried taking into consideration the phreatic pressure at a low bound of -2.5m.
- Given that the project covers a significant area, the round surface of the site is chosen as a reference point. The cultural theme shall be the “Gastronomy”, as it embraces different ages, social classes, ethnicities and intends to be an attraction pole of the abovementioned 4 main focal points.
Concept

1. Perimeter of the site.
2. Guidance base.
3. Layer and connection overlapping system between opposite “orillas” of the site.
4. Circulation systems.
5. Perimeter stores and components.
6. Gasometer.

Materials and Structure
The facades are made of 5 differents colors of concrete. Each building has a different concrete color.
The pigment of concrete is essentially the Iron oxide, except the green pigment, wich is made of chromium.
